Privacy policy
No tracking cookies, no analytics, no data sold. Here is exactly what we collect and why.
The short version
We do not run analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies on this site. We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for marketing. The only personal information we hold is what you type into the contact form or the chat assistant, and we use it to reply to you.
The longer version below explains the detail, including the two outside services this site depends on.
What we collect
Information you give us
If you fill in the contact form we collect your name, email address, and whatever you choose to add in the company, website, service, budget and message fields.
If you use the chat assistant and ask for a callback, we collect your name and phone number, your email address if you provide one, and the service and industry you select. We also receive the messages you type into the chat.
Information collected automatically
When you submit either form, or send a chat message, our server records the page address you were on, your IP address and the time. The IP address is used to enforce a request limit, which is what stops the forms being used to send bulk mail. It is not used to build a profile of you and it is not shared.
Our web host keeps standard server logs, as effectively every web host does. These contain IP addresses and requested URLs.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
The chat widget stores a single value in your browser's session storage to remember that you dismissed its greeting, so it does not reappear on every page. It contains no personal information and your browser discards it when you close the tab.
Who else is involved
Two outside services receive data when you use this site.
- Google Fonts. Typefaces are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Your browser requests those files directly, so Google receives your IP address and browser details as part of the request. No fonts are served from our own domain.
- Groq. The chat assistant is powered by a large language model hosted by Groq, Inc. The messages you type in the chat are sent to Groq to generate a reply, along with the public content of this website. Do not put confidential information into the chat.
Callback requests are delivered to us by email through our web host's mail server. Beyond that, we do not pass your information to anyone. We have never sold personal information and have no plans to.
Why we are allowed to hold it
If you are in the UK, EU or another region with similar law, our lawful bases are these. Where you have contacted us asking to hear back, we rely on your request and on taking steps at your request before entering a contract. Where we log an IP address to limit abuse of our own forms, we rely on legitimate interests, specifically keeping the site working and not becoming a spam relay.
How long we keep it
Enquiries stay in our email for as long as we might reasonably need them, which in practice means about two years from your last contact, unless you become a client, in which case business records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Server logs are kept for the short retention period set by our host. Ask us to delete your enquiry and we will, subject to anything we are legally required to retain.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to object to how we are using it, or to receive it in a portable format. You can also withdraw consent at any time.
To use any of these, email info@voxelclicks.com. We will not charge you and we will not make it difficult. If you are in the UK or EU and you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are a California resident: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right under it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries reach us by email, which is a convenient medium and not a highly secure one, so please do not send passwords, card numbers or anything else sensitive through the form or the chat. No system is perfectly secure and we will not pretend otherwise.
Children
This is a business-to-business service and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about anything we hold on you, go to info@voxelclicks.com.
To be completed before launch: add the registered business name, trading address and, if you appoint one, the data protection contact. Some jurisdictions require a postal address in a privacy policy for it to be valid.
